DESCRIPTION:The Parks Foundation of Hendricks County is excited to host the 15th Summer Fun Run Series. If you love our parks\, enjoy being outdoors\, and are up for an active summer challenge\, you’ll want to sign up for the 2023 Summer Fun Run Series\, presented by Hendricks Regional Health.\nYour race entry of $35 for an individual and $100 for a family of four gives you access to safe and convenient well-marked\, self-guided racing at 12 Hendricks County Parks. New this year\, we are offering an in-person option every Wednesday\, where a Parks Foundation representative and sponsor will be present to help answer any questions. Pricing goes up after May 12 so make sure to register soon!\nFunds raised from the Summer Fun Run are used to provide grants to the local park departments in Hendricks County.\nCheck out the schedule below and complete your run or walk during the designated dates listed for each park. SUMMARY:6th Annual "Artists Paint the Town" Arts Festival -- Family Fun Art Day
DESCRIPTION:Shop the Saturday morning farmers market and watch artists of all ages from across central Indiana drawing and painting their plein air versions of local buildings and landscapes based on the available natural light\, Saturday\, August 12 from 8 am – 4 pm. \nPlein air is French for ‘out of doors.’ Artists create images by painting or drawing outside with acrylics\, pastels or water colors. \nSponsored by the Gallery on the Square and Downtown Danville\, this will be the sixth year non-professional and professional painters setup their easels all over Danville to create impressionist scenes of local businesses\, the courthouse square\, neighborhoods and public spaces. \nArts festival activities for the public will include opportunities to “chalk-the-walk” around the square\, face painting\, make-and-take art and at 2 pm the grand opening of the new outdoor mural in the alley on the courthouse square’s southside. \nStay for the 4 pm awards presentations at the same location where over $2\,500 in prizes will be awarded in a variety of categories. \nLearn more about the event and artists’ registration online at https://www.indianaartgallery.com/plein-air-event.
