In 2024 we were able to give over $401\,571 in financial assistance to our Westside Community. \nThe Hendricks Regional Health YMCA strives to make a difference in the lives of people in our community every day. The Gobble Gallop 5k is our largest fundraising event for our Annual Campaign. This past year\, the donations we received towards our Annual Campaign helped provide over $401\,571 in financial assistance to qualifying Westside families. We were able to provide children with the opportunity to attend preschool\, take swim lessons\, and play in our youth sports leagues. DESCRIPTION:Childhood apraxia of speech (CAS) is a rare motor speech disorder that makes it difficult for children to speak. Children with CAS often have a good understanding of language and know what they want to say\, but have difficulty learning or carrying out the complex sequenced movements that are necessary for intelligible speech. At the Walk for Apraxia\, we gather to celebrate the achievements of our Apraxia Stars\, and to raise funds to support the programs that help our Stars shine. The Walk for Apraxia sustains educational opportunities\, awareness\, financial aid\, support for research\, and much more. By joining the Walk\, you are making our apraxia community tighter\, stronger\, and ready for the road ahead. The Walk includes activities for kids and families\, a ceremony to celebrate Apraxia Stars (children with childhood apraxia of speech) with a medal and certificate\, and a 1-mile walk around the park. DESCRIPTION:What do breakfast\, a prairie maze\, covered bridges\, and an adventure farm have in common? \nThey are all part of our road rally. \n$40.00 per vehicle before October 15th. $50.00 per vehicle after October 15th.\nThe Facebook event is here: www.facebook.com/share/Mb4AxhvdSCei8qmB/ \nJoin us for a day of fun and adventure while you support Lucci’s House Bully Rescue. We’ll have raffles\, a 50/50 draw\, and some giveaways at the park and the farm. \nMeet at the McCloud Nature Park Pavilion for check-in. Check in starts at 9:00 and goes until 10:15. We leave at 10:30. \nAfter check in\, tour the prairie maze\, grab some breakfast or coffee\, get some swag\, or check out the park. Quick driver meeting at 10:15 and then we will head out at 10:30. \nWe’ll head West\, drive through a covered bridge\, and then stop at another covered bridge to walk around and get some drinks and snacks.\nNext we drive through four covered bridges before stopping at the fifth bridge to get out and explore. \nWe’ll take a quick jaunt over to an adventure farm where we’ll have fire pits\, drinks\, snacks\, swag\, and some fun events. The farm also has food for sale. If you would like to go into the farm to check out the animals (some can be pet or fed)\, they are giving us a group rate of $8.00 per person over the age of 2. \nThe event will officially end at 3:30\, but everyone is welcome to leave early or stay late if they wish.\nPrice is per vehicle. \nPrice includes the pavilion rental at the park\, coffee\, donuts\, other breakfast items\, drinks and snacks along the way\, and fire pit rentals at the farm. Each guest is responsible for the costs of any food they purchase\, tours of the farm\, or any other items they choose to purchase including raffle tickets and 50/50 draw tickets. \nYou are welcome to pack your own food/snacks.\nWe recommend you bring cash for purchases as cell services (and therefore CC purchases) may be limited. \nAll dogs must be on a leash\, vaccinated\, and non-aggressive. Well behaved children are welcome. Neither the park nor the farm permit smoking or alcohol consumption. \nThe total mileage from start to finish is about 80 miles. Please fuel up before you arrive. \nRestrooms available at the park and the adventure farm.

DESCRIPTION:The B&O Trail Association will present its 3rd annual “Blaze the B&O” fun run and walk on at 9:00 a.m. September 28 at Cardinal Park\, 3432 Hornaday Road in Brownsburg\, Indiana. Presented by IU Health West\, Big O Tires\, Brownsburg Running Club and Brownsburg Parks\, the event includes both a four-mile fun and a two-mile walk option held partly on the B&O Trail. The event will raise funds to further expand the B&O Trail in Marion and Hendricks Counties. Registered participants will receive commemorative t-shirts and finisher medals\, with winners receiving awards. Registrations must be submitted no later than September 21 to guarantee a t-shirt. To register\, visit botrail.org and click on the event information.\nWith a mission of Blazing Trails\, Connecting Communities\, the B&O Trail Association (BOTA) is creating a recreational trail along the abandoned B&O Railroad corridor. The non-profit\, all-volunteer organization was formed in 1993 and has already completed 8.25 miles of paved trail. BOTA partners with the Speedway Trails Association (STA)\, which has now completed three miles on the west side of Indianapolis\, which run from Michigan Street to High School Rd. Beginning this fall\, BOTA and STA will start construction on the segment connecting the trail from Raceway Rd. to High School Rd. in Indianapolis\, resulting in 16 miles of continuous trail from downtown Indianapolis to the center of Hendricks County.\nAnyone interested in assisting by volunteering please email contact@botrail.org for sign-up information.\nTo learn more\, visit botrail.org. to High School Road.
