DESCRIPTION:One of the most outstanding instrumentalists in rock over the past 40 years\, Texas guitarist Eric Johnson was already a legend before he recorded his first album. Since 1986 Eric has released seventeen albums\, in addition to albums with other artists such as Eclectic with jazz guitarist Mike Stern\, and the platinum-selling G3 Live with Joe Satriani and Steve Vai. Eric has received eight Grammy nominations along with numerous other recognitions\, awards and wins in various polls and magazines. Among Johnson’s many accolades are a GRAMMY award in 1992 for “Cliffs of Dover” as Best Rock Instrumental Performance\, lifetime induction into the Guitar Player Gallery of Greats\, and his listing among the“100 Greatest Guitarists of the 20th Century” by Musician magazine. Over the course of more than four decades\, Eric Johnson has been traveling on a prolific odyssey. Along the way\, his creations have cross-pollinated the various musical genres which include rock\, blues\, jazz\, fusion\, soul\, folk\, new-age\, classical\, and even country. Inevitably EJ says it best himself in sharing that regardless of the genre “It really boils down to the music and the song at the end of the day”\, he explains. “The most important thing for me is to grow musically and make a more expansive and meaningful artistic statement with every new project.”

SUMMARY:Tilden Trailhead Celebration
DESCRIPTION:The B&O Trail Association (BOTA) invites the community to a Tilden Trailhead Celebration on Wednesday\, October 22\, from 4–7 p.m. at the Tilden Trailhead\, where the B&O Trail meets County Road 500 East. \nThe event will celebrate the recently completed trailhead\, which features ample parking for both cars and horse trailers\, a portable toilet\, and Homeward\, a sculpture installation made from found objects\, fabricated steel and glass. Attendees will have an opportunity to talk with sculptor David Vertacnik\, a former art professor at the University of Kansas (Lawrence\, Kansas)\, whose sculptures have been installed both in the United States and Slovenia. The Podium Barbecue food truck will be on site\, and visitors can enjoy refreshments while learning more about the story behind the sculpture and the people who helped make it possible.\nThe newly renovated trailhead was primarily funded through grants from the Hendricks County Government through the collaboration of the Hendricks County Commissioners and Hendricks County Council (ARPA grant)\, the Hendricks County Community Foundation\, and Hendricks Power. Additional support was provided by more than 2\,000 individual donors\, and the sculpture was funded by the Vertacnik Family\, the Rotary Club of Brownsburg and Dotlich Crane.\nThis celebration marks another milestone in the B&O Trail’s mission to connect communities across central Indiana. With the recent completion a new trail section linking Brownsburg to Speedway\, the B&O Trail now spans 17 miles from the White River in Marion County to west of Brownsburg. The next step for the B&O Trail Association is to continue building westward—extending the trail to North Salem and eventually beyond the Wabash River.\nThe B&O Trail Association is a nonprofit\, all-volunteer organization founded in 1993 to create a recreational trail along the abandoned Baltimore & Ohio Railroad corridor.\nTo learn more or get involved\, visit botrail.org.

DESCRIPTION:Childhood apraxia of speech (CAS) is a rare motor speech disorder that makes it difficult for children to speak. Children with CAS often have a good understanding of language and know what they want to say\, but have difficulty learning or carrying out the complex sequenced movements that are necessary for intelligible speech. At the Walk for Apraxia\, we gather to celebrate the achievements of our Apraxia Stars\, and to raise funds to support the programs that help our Stars shine. The Walk for Apraxia sustains educational opportunities\, awareness\, financial aid\, support for research\, and much more. By joining the Walk\, you are making our apraxia community tighter\, stronger\, and ready for the road ahead. The Walk includes activities for kids and families\, a ceremony to celebrate Apraxia Stars (children with childhood apraxia of speech) with a medal and certificate\, and a 1-mile walk around the park.
